Stan was a great man and a pillar of our fraternity. He will be sorely missed and for those of you that knew him better than I, I am sure there aren't words to express what he has meant to the fraternity and to each one of you that knew him on a more personal level.

Evan Sottosanti, National President

My prayers are with the family and Brother Stan.

There is only one Stan Raffa, and his essence and flavor has helped define us as a Fraternity. At some point, I hope to gather my thoughts and share with you and others his impact on me and so many others. He was always considered the "national" figure and his activity and dedication to APD inspired more than a few of the several decades of his unending devotion. The stories about him can go on forever, as will his influence on our beloved Fraternity.

Santo Barbarino, Past National President
Beta Sigma '65
Lynbrook, NY - Oct. 1,2005
I feel fortunate that several of the scholarship trustees helped Stan celebrate his 80th birthday just two weeks ago. We talked a couple of times since then, and I read his book which he presented to us at the party. It's a surprisingly easy read considering it's about his POW experience.

He was an inspiration to so many of us who were officers for the past 30 or 40 years. I felt especially close to him since he was Executive Secretary when I was Treasurer.

The instruction from his sister Maria is that in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the scholarship fund. The easiest way is to mail them directly to me at PO Box 8212, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.

Rich Primiano, Past National President

A good man is gone but never forgotten. I'm sure we will continue to honor him with an APD scholarship.

What a shame. Stan was at my induction some 15 years ago in Brooklyn.

Evan Lerman
Beta Eta '90
Commack, NY - Sept 30, 2005
Stan's name has been permanently etched into my brain from the time I pledged. Along with the concept he so wonderfully lived... "Membership in Alpha Phi Delta is eternal and carries with it the obligation of permanent activity and support" Living as I do in the Mid West, this is not at all easy to put into practice (no alumni or undergrad chapters) regardless... My oldest son will be of college age soon so we shall see. I will be happy to send a donation in Stan's memory.
